WELS 105 Optimism and Mindfulness

Students will learn the values necessary to having a positive outlook in life.

Course Description

Prof Dan has the following tips for aspiring optimists:

  • Explore the concept of mindfullness
  • Accurately assess situations
  • Choose to hope for the best
  • Don't expect anything to be given to you
  • Celebrate every triumph
  • Count your blessings every day
  • Show your support group you appreciate them
  • Make the best use of your time
  • Leave every room the way you found it or better

Prof Dan has the following comments about the syllabus:"Being an optimist doesn't mean blinding yourself to the reality around us. It means seeing reality as it is and both the positive and negative futures. Then, prepare for the worst, hope for the best. Mindfulness can help by focusing your attention on the most relevant details around you. Also, mindfullness based stressed reduction techniques can reduce our daily stress and helpr emove stress as a distraction to happiness."

Prof Dan's final exam involves students waking up every morning for the rest of their life with a sense of wonderment and joy.

Prof Dan presents the following qualifications for this course: "I love life."
